Module 1 - Getting started with SharePoint 2010 

In this module we will cover the fundamentals you need in place to get SharePoint off the ground. Topics included will be Windows Server, SQL Server, and hardware requirements.

Module 2 - Install SharePoint Server 2010 

This module will focus on installing SharePoint. Use of the prerequisite installer and the actual installation process will be covered. Once the install is finished the use of configuration wizard will covered to create a new farm.

Module 3 - Configuring your SharePoint 2010 farm 

In this module we will focus on the key configuration tasks now that SharePoint has been installed. The new service applications architecture is quite a departure from the Shared Services Provider (SSP) in 2007 and makes a host of scenarios now possible.

Module 4 - Creating your first web application  

Now that your farm is ready to go you need to create that first web application to give your users access. And even there you still need a site collection and some webs. In this module we will make since of all that terminology and look at the new templates.

Module 5 - Using Windows PowerShell to administer SharePoint 

A SharePoint administrator’s first reaction is yuck but this tool is awesome. You need to in brace its awesome power for making your life easier.

Module 6 - Exploring upgrade options 

Everyone has SharePoint v3 running around. Time to discuss how to upgrade that data. Taking a look at the new options for preparing for upgrade and the various methods available.

Module 7 - Backups and restores should be your number 1 priority 

In this module we will make sure all of your data is safe. SharePoint 2010 has added several new options around making upgrade more flexible.

Module 8 - Logging, monitoring and health 

SharePoint 2010 has a whole list of new tools to make understanding what is going on in your farm much easier. This module will touch on the various options including the best practices analyzer.

Module 9 - Who doesn’t love Search? 

Search is back and way bigger and badder this time around. Lots of core changes to the underlying architecture to increase scale. And what better to do with that new scale then make the UI much cooler.

Module 10 - Using SharePoint 2010 

This module lets your brain unwind a little. We will cover all of the UI updates to SharePoint 2010 and what they mean to you the admin. Lots of cool new functionality you need to see to believe.

Module 11 - SQL Server administration for SharePoint admins 

SQL Server is the most important part of any SharePoint farm. It is where all of your data lives and is often the center of how well your performance is in your farm. In this module we are going to work through the proper care of feeding of SQL Server.

Module 12 - Tools for keeping SharePoint Performance under control
